Berry Basil Lemonade Smoothie

Kick up the seasonal smoothie up a notch - add fresh strawberries and blueberries to your summer blend to cool down and to receive powerful antioxidant effects from these little bursting nutrient packed bundles.  Add in just a touch of basil for an oh-la-la taste, smell, and for anti-inflammatory benefits. I loved adding in coconut water as well for extra electrolytes post-workout (or on any sweaty day for that matter - but water is totally cool too!)

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup strawberries

  • 1 cup blueberries (frozen)

  • 2 lemons (juiced - you can add more lemon if you prefer the acidity!)

  • 2 cups spinach (2 large handfuls)

  • 1/2 cup basil (small handful)

  • 1 cup water (or COCONUT WATER)

  • Ice if needed

DIRECTIONS: Blend on high until VERY smooth! Enjoy!
